Collaboration: Manhattan Wind Ensemble

In collaboration with the Manhattan Wind Ensemble, members of the New York Andalus Ensemble are performing an original composition by ensemble member Alon Nechustan. “Loose Winds,” an orchestral piece in three movements, features elements drawn from the nubat Hijaz Msarqi, and instrumentalists on nay, qanun, violin, oud, two percussionists, accordion, upright bass, and vocals.
